Our usual methods are simple, but effective. We clearly and honestly explain what we need to do, and proceed to complete our procedures as quickly, efficiently and painlessly as possible. While we routinely use a variety of local anesthetics, our use of sedative medications is minimal. Most children are comfortable with our shorter visits, and can enjoy watching a movie during treatment.

In some situations, a child may have an extensive plan of treatment, or may be very young or especially fearful. Other children have special circumstances that require additional means to allow the procedures to be completed. Your doctor will discuss the use of nitrous oxide, oral sedation, intravenous sedation and general anesthesia when it may be an appropriate consideration for your child.
